How much does a truck use?
It is expected that DEF consumption will be approximately 2% of the total diesel fuel consumed.

Example A – Medium Duty – 10 avg gal size (10 fills)
50,000 miles annual at 10mpg fuel economy
Approx 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel needed
5,000 * 2% = 100 gallons of DEF/year

Example B – Heavy Duty – 20 avg gal size or (20 fills)
120,000 miles annual at 6mpg fuel economy
Approx 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel needed
20,000 * 2% = 400 gallons of DEF/year
