Area Sales Consultant

General Summary:
This position will entail business to business sales and marketing, relationship development, and account management for a full scope of commercial fuel products.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Responsible for maintaining and developing existing and new commercial fuel based business opportunities
• Consistent sales calls on a specific area of responsibility and customer base
• Organize sales territory and maintain regular call cycle
• Travel throughout an assigned territory to assist in calling on regular and prospective customers
• Implement our manufacturers programs and extend their oil products to customers and prospects
• Review and track sales volumes and report field activities to management on a weekly basis
• Support customer account maintenance and service calls/levels
• Provide dates of delivery to customers based on knowledge of company’s processes and delivery schedules
• Help support the coordination between customers, customer service center, and operations to improve customer/company relations
• Participate in research to help resolve product, service, and delivery issues
• Learn the processes of preparing sales contracts, quoting prices, and submitting credit applications and terms
• Ethically and professionally represent The McPherson Companies, our products and programs to customers and prospects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 3 years plus sales experience in B2C and B2B sales required
• Excellent communication, organizational, and closing skills
• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience in the industry
• Previous industry field environment experience desired
• Proven ability to develop and implement winning sales strategies, exceed goals and meet deadlines
• Proficient in computer skills (Word, Excel, Office, Power Point)
• Able to utilize latitude given within job parameters to make independent decisions
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be comfortable with a fast paced, opportunity filled work environment and able to handle multiple tasks
• Verifiable work history and previous success building and maintaining relationships
• Self motivation with strong leadership qualities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
